ED & F Man Shipping has two main business activities, trading and brokerage. We are a significant carrier in the handymax-supramax sector of the dry cargo shipping market.  Formed in 1983, initially as a broking company, today, we have up to 35 bulk carriers on time charter at any one time which, with our access to spot chartered tonnage, enables us to offer our wide-ranging clients a comprehensive service.  The trading operation is based in London and has a representative office in Singapore to cover the Far Eastern markets.  Our focus is on building long term relationships with our clients by provided them a high quality service to meet their contractual needs.

Our customers include major international trading houses as well as industrial companies. Commodities carried on a regular basis include cement, petcoke, steel scrap, alumina, manganese ore and coal which reflect our primarily industrial or minerals trading client base.
